My award-winning research project was titled “Mortality and ICU Length of Stay in Septic Shock Patients with Positive Troponins”, which explored the clinical implications of cardiac biomarkers in sepsis outcomes.

I was the chief medical resident of internal medicine at Raritan Bay Medical Center (RBMC), which is a part of Hackensack Meridian Health, New Jersey’s largest and most comprehensive health network1RBMC consists of two general acute care hospitals, located in Perth Amboy and Old Bridge, servicing the Raritan Bayshore communities in Middlesex and Monmouth counties. Medical Dilemma Jeopardy Tournament

2019

One of the highlights of my medical career was taking part in the New Jersey Medical Dilemma Jeopardy Tournament in 2019. This was a fun and challenging event that pitted teams of residents and fellows from different medical fields and institutions against each other in a game of medical trivia and ethics. I was thrilled to win third place out of 16 teams, by answering tough questions on topics ranging from diagnosis and treatment to prognosis and professionalism. It was a great experience to test my knowledge, learn new things, and meet other passionate medical professionals from across the state.

CHEST Annual Meeting Podium Presentation

2020

I was honored to present my research at the CHEST conference in 2020, one of the most respected events in the fields of pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine. My research was about how changes in blood sugar levels affect the outcomes of patients with severe sepsis and septic shock who are admitted to the intensive care unit. I did a study that looked at the records of these patients and found that those who had more fluctuations in their blood sugar levels had worse outcomes than those who had more stable blood sugar levels. They were more likely to die, stay longer in the hospital, and need a breathing machine. This means that doctors should pay attention not only to the average blood sugar levels but also to how much they vary when they treat these patients. This could help improve their chances of survival and recovery.

Global Spine Congress Podium Presentation

2021

I was thrilled to present my research at the Global Spine Congress in 2021, a leading international conference that brings together experts and innovators in the field of spine surgery and research. My research was about measuring the size and shape of the atlas, which is the first bone of the spine that connects to the skull. I used a large database of X-ray images from different countries and regions to analyze how the atlas varies among different populations and groups. I found that there are significant differences in the atlas dimensions based on age, sex, ethnicity, and geography. This has important implications for diagnosing and treating spine disorders that involve the atlas, such as neck pain, headaches, vertigo, and spinal cord compression. My research could help improve the accuracy and safety of spine surgery and interventions involving the atlas.
